Confirmation Points
In order to help young people practice good faith habits, we ask for 25 confirmation points every year. Ten points must be through Worship, and five through Service. The other 15 points can be through the students’ choice. Points not earned in one year will be rolled over to the following year so that 75 points are accumulated over three years.
Worship Points can be earned by:
- Writing a worship note
- Acolyting (grades 7, 8, 9)
- Ushering (grades 8 & 9)
- Working the sound board (grade 9)
- Singing in choir
- Playing bells
Service Points can be earned by:
- Loaves & Fishes
- Adopt a Highway
- Helping in Faith Trek Sunday School
- Coffee Duty
- Nursery
- VBS
- Caroling
- Projects in the community & school (not fundraisers, not for your own family; 2 point minimum per project)
Points can also be earned by:
- Jump Start
- Retreats and Bible Camp (not lockins)
- Serving in the community without pay
- Summer Stretch
- Etc.
Service to one’s own family is considered a part of good family life and not counted for confirmation points.
Glory in the Highest
Recognizing that some students serve and worship in exceptional ways, a “Glory in the Highest” party will be given for those students who exceed the minimum by 10 points, earning 35 or more, by April 30. The party is usually the first Sunday in June and is free to these outstanding students. In past years the Glory in the Highest party has been at the Water Park of America; bowling, video games and pizza; and mini-golf, batting cages, go-carts and hot dogs.

Affirmation of Faith
The Affirmation of Faith or Confirmation Service is usually the third Sunday in May at the 10:30 a.m. service. In 2008 it is May 18, 2008.
Students will have completed 75 confirmation points, been regular attendees to class, written a Faith Statement and given a presentation on part of the Catechism.
The Presentation is usually the Wednesday preceding the Affirmation of Baptism. In 2008 it is Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. Students will also have a class picture taken, rehearse, and enjoy a light reception with their families. Most students have chosen to dress up a little for this evening, although any attire is fine.
The fees for the Affirmation of Baptism service are for gown rental and photos. Sometimes classes have collected money for a gift to the church.
