Back to Call Committee's "Home Page"

Pastor Page

WHEN DO WE GET TO MEET THE CANDIDATES?

Unfortunately that isn't possible. That is the task of the Call Committee. Of course, the reason is to keep the candidates names confidential (see Pastor Page on "CONFIDENTIALITY"). When a candidate is chosen, we will arrange a "Meet and Greet" get-together before the congregational vote is taken.

Meanwhile the Call Committee is busy interviewing the candidates. Because of availability, we are doing one or two candidates a week. Each candidate is interviewed for about an hour using questions from the committee, the congregation and the synod. They are also given a brief tour of the church and have a period of time to ask the committee questions. A few members of the committee will also be visiting the pastor's home church to hear a sermon as well as taped sermons. Talking to the people listed as contacts for recommendations will be important too. We are impressed with the people we have met. As someone on the committee said, "I wish we could just put them all together like clay. They all have such great qualities!"

Your help this week:

Pray for patience.

It has been suggested that the Purple Pastor Page be included in the Sunday bulletin from now on. However, we encourage you to go back and read the previous Pastor Pages you may have missed. They are on the kiosk and in a notebook on the back table in the Narthex. Topics include: where to get more info.; why process takes so long; our preferences vs. our needs; and MORE!
